Dear Friends and Members,

I know this subject appears almost every year, and as in the tale with a boy and the wolf some of you may not pay attention to it anymore, but this time the reason is different.

Earlier I was considering closing the forum due to lack of any activity. Somehow there still were people, who wanted to write and read, so the forum thrived, barely, but it did.

This time the situation is very different. Due to financial crisis and my translation workload dropped rapidly and I have problems with paying my bills and buying food. I cannot afford paying for the server and the domain. If the situation changes before April and I have money, I will pay for another year for the server, but if not - sorry, the forum will be closed.

I will save the database backup, so if the situation changes in the future, I would be able to restore the forum to it's last state and go on, if anyone would still be interested, but this step is not sure.

I want to thank you for your support through those years. Please note I will still be making news section on the AWC forum http://forum.awc618.com/showthread.php?t=56 . You can always drop by to read, even if you cannot post.

I am sorry for the situation, but there is nothing I can do about it.

I understand what a difficult decision this must be for you, but you have to eat!! Is there anything we can do to help? I would be happy to donate to the cost of keeping the forum up and running. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

The forum is a place I enjoy much, and has opened a whole new world for me, found great friends in here, and also kept me informed on Andy, and his work. But, I'm also the first one to understand what you are going through, Tiger, and how difficult the situation is. I truly hope, from the bottom of my heart, that the financial situation changes for good, even before april, for all of us. Right now I'm in no position to offer more than my moral support to whatever you decide. Thanks for your hard work, and everything you do for us.

If there would be enough volunteers to gather required amount, then why not. The server expires in 1 month (just got a reminder by emails yesterday). It costs ~USD 32 for another year.

The domain costs ~ USD 13.50, but it's due in June. The forum can work without it, but would change name and some people could not find the way back here.

If there are volunteers, please let me know by PM how much you'd be willing to donate. If volunteers' donations would be enough - then we could go with this plan. If not enough - no sense in sending any money.

I am glad to hear this forum are back to normal but after that will it be difficult to be back again? why won't we set up a committee to get the fund for this forum so it will forever keep going and I willing to pay for it as this will make as our own forum but must still have the right person to control it as our TVBtiger are the best for doing it. Do you guys have any better idea?

I would like to help out TVBtiger on this forum as is not easy to maintain and always keep TVBtiger pay all the time. We plan out a committee and send the money to TVBtiger, so this forum will run it forever as we only can be at here for all the news on Andy Lau in English. If anyone are willing to be part of it, why won't tvbtiger set up a post for this as we can help out and we also can have the fund for other activities, like the committee meet up once a year for or any related to Andy activities also. what you guys think about it? :wink:

Mid-May I'm starting a new job, with stable salary, and paying forum fees will be a small fraction of my income, so there should't be any problems any more... and in this kind of profession crisis is not so dangerous
